AllUnity Launches MiCA-Regulated Dollar Stablecoin USDAU

AllUnity has launched USDAU across six networks and added stablecoin-based currency conversion to its institutional minting platform.

Frankfurt-based stablecoin issuer AllUnity has launched a US dollar-denominated token across six blockchain networks, extending its regulated European product set beyond euro, Swiss franc and Swedish krona instruments.

USDAU became available on September 30 through AllUnity’s Business Mint Account and supported partners. The company says the e-money token is backed by segregated US dollar reserves and can be redeemed at par. Initial network support covers Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tempo, Arc and Polygon.

The launch gives European businesses another route to dollar-denominated onchain settlement within the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework. It also reflects a practical divide in Europe’s stablecoin debate: policymakers want stronger euro-based payment infrastructure, while companies engaged in global trade continue to need dollar liquidity.

A multi-currency settlement product

AllUnity introduced an Instant FX function alongside USDAU. The feature is designed to let institutional customers mint supported stablecoins with foreign currencies and move value between currencies through one Business Mint Account.

That combination matters more operationally than the addition of another dollar token by itself. A multi-currency minting and redemption platform could reduce the need for businesses to assemble separate banking, token and liquidity relationships for each payment corridor. It may also make it easier to manage a dollar leg in cross-border settlement while retaining access to European-currency tokens.

The service is aimed at onboarded institutional clients rather than retail users. AllUnity said those clients can mint and redeem USDAU through its platform without a fee, although transaction, exchange, network and partner costs may still apply depending on how the token is used.

Partners divide the operating roles

According to AllUnity’s announcement, Banking Circle will provide reserve and transaction banking services, while Flowdesk will act as a designated liquidity provider. Archax is a direct minting and redemption partner, and Hercle will support off-ramp and foreign-exchange functions. The issuer also named Bitcoin Suisse, RULEMATCH, BitGo and Galaxy among the launch ecosystem.

This division of responsibilities illustrates the institutional stack behind a regulated stablecoin. Issuance is only one component; reserve banking, custody, liquidity, conversion and distribution determine whether a token can function reliably in treasury and settlement workflows.

Demand versus scale

Executives from several European issuers told Cointelegraph that dollar tokens address demand from companies conducting cross-border payments, treasury operations and digital-asset settlement. Those comments are industry views, not independent evidence of adoption. AllUnity did not disclose USDAU circulation, transaction volume or committed customer numbers in its launch announcement.

That leaves execution as the key test. Payments firms evaluating USDAU will need to assess reserve disclosures, redemption performance, liquidity across each supported chain, smart-contract controls and the availability of compliant on- and off-ramps. The six-network launch creates broad technical reach, but reach alone does not guarantee deep liquidity or efficient settlement.

USDAU nonetheless expands the range of dollar payment instruments issued inside the EU regulatory perimeter. For European payment companies, the relevant competitive question is likely to be less about euro versus dollar tokens than whether regulated multi-currency platforms can deliver dependable conversion and redemption at commercial scale.
